Performence of Dy-Skilz

From a school report:
On Liberation Day I've been to a performance of Dy-Skilz.The group consists of two beginning dutch rappers, both of whom are 15 years of age, but they sure are popular. They performed on the Assendorper square. It was filled. According to De Stentor (Splogman: local news paper Zwolle) there were a few hundred people. There were even people with banners.

Their rap's pretty good, but sometimes you can see that they aren't doing this very long yet. Especially Tags, in fact he's shy. But I find it good that he has the courage to perform for such a big audience. O.B. licious, the DJ of Dy-Skilz has made the beat The lyrics were good too. There was a story in it. They said that they had made them all by themselves. I think that's rather good because it sounded very professional: there was repetition, variation, multiple part-singing, solos and choruses.
Robie:
His real name is Robert de Reu from Zwolle. He's in the third class on mixed-theoretical level of the Thomas à Kempis College, location North. He wants to become something in sports, but if he will have the opportunity to become a professional rapper he will.

Tags is an old word for 'nickname'. His real name is Tim Blok from Zwolle. He's in the fourth class on mixed-theoretical level of the Thomas à Kempis College, location North. He wants to become something in sports, but if he will have the opportunity to become a professional rapper he will. He has a girlfriend named Angel.

They know each other for seven years now and in the past three years they started to rap.
Owen fixes the beats. He's also the producer and sound engineer of the three. They decided to form a group after Owen had invited the other two to his recording studio to have a listen to some of his old works.

Interview with Robert and Tim
Why did you start rapping?
We were both skaters first. Robert on skates and Tim on skateboard, but Robert broke his arm during skating and he didn't have the courage anymore to step on to the skate track. Tim stopped as well. Then we heard about Kunstbende (Splogman: art competition for students) from Robert's mother and we began to write and rap.

How did you start?
We went to write a rap one day. Later we saw a poster for a competition in Odeon. We subscribed to that, and then they asked us to play at Liberation Day and Queens Day too, and we agreed.

What do you want to tell the people?
We just want to let people enjoy our music and at the same time we write about live, such as feelings and all the things that happen in the world.

How did you feel during your first performance?
Very exciting and fun. We were nervous at first but once we had started we completely we went into it completely.

Why Dy-Skilz?
It stands for 'dead skills' but written down in our own language. We just thought it was a cool name. We don't really have a good reason for it.

How is your music meant?
Pure amusement and listening fun. We don't want to explain our actual opinions, people will have to think for themselves.

(translation: splogman)
