Kees de Jongen english story Bij het bekijken van de website van Splogman moest ik een paar keer aan dezelfde cd denken die ik sinds 1993 in mijn bezit heb. Dit kan geen toeval zijn, dacht ik. Ik moet met deze associaties iets doen in dit project. Ik kwam de "zwembadpas" tegen (splogman's log 2 maart 2004) en blokfluitmuziek Small sister - Alet Meier. Ik wist het meteen: Kees, de Jongen. Ja, die jongen van de film, maar daarover wil ik liever niks zeggen. Nee, de jongen uit het boek van Theo Thijssen. En het muziektheaterstuk dat naar het boek, nee naar een toneelstuk dat naar het boek is gemaakt. Dat muziektheaterstuk heb ik gezien in de Amsterdamse stadsschouwburg in 1993 en ik vond het ge-wel-dig! De muziek was van Willem Breuker, een garantie voor creatief componeer- en musiceerwerk. Het stuk werd uitgevoerd door jonge dansers en jonge musici. De musici maakten deel uit van het theaterbeeld en speelden behalve de muziek, ook diverse rollen. Het verhaal werd in beweging en muziek verteld, er kwam geen gesproken tekst aan te pas. Het tweede stukje maakt de "zwembadpas" hoorbaar. Het derde stukje heet "de klas" , gespeeld door alle musici, als klasgenootjes, en allemaal op blokfluit. Op de een of andere manier ontroert deze klas mij steeds weer als ik die fluitjes hoor, nou ja, ik ben dan ook lang schooljuffie geweest, en in een latere periode heb ik ook veel kinderen blokfluitles gegeven. Het zal daar wel mee te maken hebben. Maar je moet maar durven als Willem Breuker zo'n compositie op de planken te zetten, gespeeld door musici die geen blokfluit gestudeerd hebben. De hele cd is zeer de moeite waard maar dit zijn twee kleine pareltjes eruit. (Splogman: Willem Breuker is ook de man achter My baby has gone to the schouwburg. Dit cjp-promotieplaatje was de189-ste bijdrage in het 365 days project dat sinds kort weer geheel on-line is!!!) |

He appears on tv for children programme on wednesday. But now he's part of a forgotten past. In this song that you can translate "duck's twist", Jacques Courtois sings like a duck but he's also imitating the General de Gaulle. Which is a strange and wonderful conbination. The man is no living on desert island he bought on the pacific. 2 - Les Rabbins volants (wich mean "the flying rabbins") - Coin coin 1996 - label : Levy metal /absolute reccord What can we say about this one. I first discovered the video clip wich is tremendous, on TV. The singer is dressed like a baby chicken and the other members of the band are in rabbin 's suit. It was quite hard to find the album "yisddish surf". It was no more in sell. But a friend of mine first found the maxi and finally the LP in a cd discount shop. The album is quite bad and the lp version of this song is less interesting. But the cover is realy funny. But nowadays this song is incredible. So long live 'les rabbins volants.' I'm not sure, but i think the band doesn't exist any more. |
| 3 - Le vieux thorax - comme un âne (wich means "like a donkey") An unreleased song of a quite unknown musician. That's what I call rarities. Le vieux thorax he's a cut and paste addict. But most of the time the samples he uses are unexpected. All kind of music lovers and especially the sixties, he can make some good cocktail song with a lot of very different sounds.
