Then I decided, if I go all the way with aimed 400 HP, I will need to rebuild the engine with better pistons and everything. At this time I decided I would withdraw my gambling money from the stock market and invest it in the car. A good decision, it was august 2008 and some stocks I had lost >90% of it's value 2 months later.
Off came the heads, out came the valves and so on. Everything looked a bit worn but still good for many easy miles.

Bad news, the splines on the clutch shaft and transfer gear wheel were 60% worn off and the gear had a lot of radial play. They should not wear at all but the ringnut was loose, some previous owner/mechanic messed up. New shaft and gear cost both in excess of 1000 Euro, needed to locate good used ones.

I looked at 1000 intercoolers on Ebay and I thought I could buy them in any size but that was not the case. These came the most close to what I could use, they will be mounted in the same spot as a 288 GTO, what a coincidence. They are intended as an upgrade for the Audi S4. Original Audi S4 intercoolers are offered cheap, but they don't look good with black plastic inlet/outlet and dulled aluminium and they are smaller. These came from Hongkong by the way.

I'm not very organized, stored parts everywhere.
