Buddha Basics
Where should you start if you want to live a life according to the ethical, moral and spiritual Buddhist standards? A great start would be to study the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. You can find them summarized through the mentioned links.Note that, stangely enough, the Fourth Truth is the advice (in order to put an end to all suffering) to follow the Noble Eightfold Path and that the first of the Noble Eightfold Path is to observe the Four Noble Truths! « Statue of the Buddha in the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, India, the site of Buddha's enlightenment. |

New DVD: Inside Tibet
10/5/2008 - September 2008 this new dvd Inside Tibet came out in the Netherlands. Watch and see how China infiltrates Tibet and destroys its culture from inside. The makers of this movie were constantly being watched by four Chinese gouvernment officials, but we still get a pretty good glimps of how China will have wiped out Tibets culture within a couple of decades if not much sooner, all under the eyes of the rest of the world. A most depressing documentary.

Buddha stamps
8/5/2008 - I started to collect stamps during the summer holidays (only on rainy days of course ;-). I do not collect Buddha stamps in particular, but I found this sheet with six stamps from India celebrating 2550 years of Mahaparinirvana of the Buddha and added it to my collection.

Ancient Tibet booklet
5/4/2008 - On the famous Amsterdam bookmarket, I found a nice little Tibet booklet, dated april 10, 1959. Now, that can't be a coincidence! This booklet appeared 10 days after the Dalai Lama crossed the Indian border, on the run for the Chinese, but towards freedom.
Here you can have a look at some more pages (sorry, Dutch text only).
