SLAVE OF DARKNESS
The 'Slave of Darkness' demo was recorded in the Autumn vacation of 1994. The best for the last, they say and it's true. With back-up from new bassist Floor Wolters and new vocalist Paul Wormgoor this is the best tape 'till now. It's recorded on 8-track DAT by Andras Fictoor, Marnix Kuipers and Pulmonary Abscess in 't Kruimeltheater in Oldenzaal. Sound is really professional and the songs are mature. Bragging is not my style, but a own sound has been really found with this tape. Too bad that Floor and Bas left the band later on, so we could look again for new guitarists... Check that out in our band's history.
Musically the tape is Death-metal with a twist to Thrash. Many melodic parts and brutal parts combine eachother. You gotta listen to it to judge.. Soon i will put a WAV file into this page and then you can hear it yourself. It sold about 400 copies.
Lyricwise it's a mixture from personal mindboggles with fiction. We now are old enough to see we can't change the world but we can change ourselves with putting our feelings on paper and spit it out. Works relieving.....try it !!
The demo-cover has been done by Belgian artist Pascal Hermans. He drew also work for Chemical Breath and Exoto. It's a really cool drawing, but it also inspired house-lovers to print a t-shirt for themselves because they thought we were a hardcore-house act. If you see one, kick'em !!
Check this one out !!
