PAINT SHOP PRO X and 9
PERSONAL USE ONLY

happy tiles starter
This simple brush I called Happy Tiles will create colorful tile to starlike shapes. As you drag the brush along the canvas, the results will vary in rotation, color, and to a small degree in size. No two shapes will be the same.

Brush Settings

The Happy Tiles brush uses both a Background and a Foreground color, which you can set in the Materials Palette.

The size and step (distance between two "imprints") can be changed in the Brush Tool Options Palette (View, Palettes, Tool Options). Don't set its size too big if you don't want jagged edges - this brush is meant to be small.

For its rotation, color changes, jittering size, and more, you can play around in the Brush Variance Palette (View, Palettes, Brush Variance).

Painting in shapes

If you want to paint in a shape, like a line, rectangle or circle, I recommend you download Gary Barton's VectorPaint Script from his site Pixelnook. It paints on vector objects. Make sure the objects you use are converted to path.

Effect Presets

The presets zipfile I offer on this page contains settings for a few PSP native effects that I think will work well on this brush. Below are several images that have a few instructions in them. Move over the thumbnails to see them. I hope you enjoy them and they will inspire you to experiment with this brush.
