OUTLINE SCRIPTS
Paint Shop Pro X (8,9, XI and up), patched

The Outline Scripts are a collection of scripts that all, in one way or another, put an outline on an existing vector or raster shape or font. The layers are left in place so changes can be made after a script has run.

Each script works best on a sturdy object or big bold font. If a script fails, this is because the selections it is trying to make are out of range or overlapping; so make sure your objects are big and wide enough.

Some of these Outline Scripts can be downloaded free for personal use. The whole collection can be bought in packages for commercial or personal use. As always, don't forget to read the terms within the script (File, Script, Edit).

#5 FrostyRusty2 Outlines - PSP 8 and up

The Outline FrostyRusty2 script works in PSP 8 and up. Its default outcome is similar to that of its twin, but the user has more choices and the outline is wider, thus allowing for more creative results.

#6 BoldRipple Outlines - PSP X and up (8 and 9)

The Outline Bold Ripple script does what its name says: it creates ripply bold outlines. This script was written for PSP X and up, but will work in 9 and 8 where it will generate a different but still pleasing outcome.

#7 Ink Outlines - PSP 8 and up

The Outline Ink script creates ink-like strokes on an existing object or font on transparency. The outcome will vary depending on the fill pattern of the object. See the wood in the screenshot above to understand that some objects are best done in vector with a stroke before this script is run.

The more variety in curves and corners your object has, the more curves this script will generate. The image below shows the original layered vector image and the raster outcome of the script in two halves.

Some interesting variations can be done with this script by turning on the extra hidden stroke layer after the script has run. My personal favorite is setting the visibility of the spare fill layer to less than full opacity.
