A timesaver script that can perform three quick and easy tasks:

1) & 2) take your seamless pattern and tile it side by side into an equally wide or high new image
3) do a bidirectional canvas resize and fill it with your seamless pattern

Horizontal or Vertical Extension

A seamless pattern may tile both ways or be intended to go either horizontally or vertically. The script gives you the choice which direction you want to go.

Depending on your choice, the script will look at your pattern image and determine its height or width.

The script will then ask you to enter the resolution and width or height of the new image it is going to create. There are standard and custom choices.

Next it will lead you to the Patterns tab in the Materials Palette, and all you have to do is find your pattern in there - the script will fill your new image for you.


Bidirectional Resize

The script offers several default common scrapbook page sizes, and a custom size choice. Once you have entered the size, the script will lead you to the Patterns tab in the Materials Palette, and all you have to do is find your pattern in there - the script will fill your new image for you.


The Advantages

  • Small filesizes

    Full size saving or sharing of (web, scrapbook, stationery) elements built from repeat patterns is not economical.

    A 300ppi 12 x 12 inch ribbon can take up quite some space, and time to send or download.

    With this script you can work with small parts of the whole: each time you need a ribbon or border or strip of a certain length, just open the pattern and run the script.


  • Quick and easy single row or column tiling

    There are several ways of filling a new image or selection with the single tile width or height of a pattern. As there are ways of resizing. They all take a bit of math and thinking ahead.

    This script will take away practically all of those decisions and calculations. It only prompts you for the new size, direction, and resolution.


  • Setting a new resolution

    There are three standard resolutions to choose from: 100, 200 and 300.

    If you need a 12 inch 200ppi ribbon for the full width of your scrapbook page, and what you have is a 72ppi 2.08 inch wide pattern, all it takes is three clicks on the defaults the scripts offers.

    Making ribbons or bars from seamless patterns is literally a matter of seconds.
