THE PILLOWCASER SCRIPT PAINT SHOP PRO 8 and up, patched INTERMEDIATE LEVEL - PERSONAL USE ONLY |
 |
PillowCaser? Yes, meet the Virtual PillowCaser. The PillowCaser is a Paint Shop Pro Toy Script that creates slightly roughened yet when on default intricate and somewhat fine textures based on fill and effect settings input from the user.

Default settings When you cancel the material fill choice at the start of the script and click OK for every effect setting as suggested by the script, you will get the initial idea of what it can do.
Your next step should be running the script with your own choice of fill material. Although color is what determines the outcome most, you can also fill with a pattern. In my experience, gradients are most likely to produce pleasing results.
A note on color: As you may notice, the Halftone Effect makes bigger white circles the darker the overall color it has to work on. This will influence the success of the next effects. You can either cancel or tweak the effect.
Below are a few cut out samples of different fill materials while OK'ing all the other choices during the script.

Tweaking the effect settings All but one effect in the script can be manually adjusted by you [please leave this automatic effect in place]. You will find that not every outcome can possibly be fabulous, but even then there is still the Layers Palette with most steps intact on their own layers. See if switching layers off or setting them to other blend modes can improve your creation. Of course you can do a lot more in there, like recoloring or dragging the layers up and down in the stack.
Below are a few (some cut out, some downsized, some not) results of user adjusted settings but nothing else done to the images. While the default Kaleidoscope will produce a seamless image, different settings for this effect may not.

So where do the pillows come in? Here they are. When ran on default, the script produces a slightly roughened yet embroidery fabric-like outcome. Combined with the intricacy and the symmetry, this reminds me of a pillow case - a cover you would put over a cushion. Very often being short on exact English terms, I opted for the literal funny descriptive.
A brief set of steps is underneath the image, hopefully enough to give you your own ideas for putting this script to use. |
 |
| I hope you will run this script many times to enjoy (and tweak) the infinite number of outcomes - or a few of them anyway. |
