Modelteam members

And then there were six

In the spring of '95 we joined together to build a model railroad to put on show at the 1996 model railroad exhibition RAIL in Den Bosch. We decided to create a modular structure of six diorama's with the same theme. In this way every member could create his own part of the layout. Because every module was trapezoid shaped, the six modules went together as a circle. The famous 'Meijerij merry-go-round' was born...
The Modelteam is named after the county in the surroundings of Den Bosch where we meet. Meijerij is also named after the former Tramway Company 'Stoomtram Maatschappij de Meijerij' that was in service between 1892 and 1936. This Company inspired us to bring it back to life in H0. (see Tramway project) The modelteam members are:

Ton Janssen. Ton likes German prototype and model railroads. He is our 'Switchmaster': All switches in the S&G are from his hands. He is also responsible for the magnificent 'undergrowth'. Other speciality; scratchbuilding models from almost nothing.

Hans Louvet. Hans likes everything als long as it is related to trains. He models in H0, 0 and IIm! Hans is responsible for the layout of the loggingcamp on the S&G.

Walter Huyboom. His dream is to build his own layout together with his girlfriend Anita. Walter did the design of the S&G, contribued in every part of the layout and weathered the Shay.

Ton van de Ven. Ton is building his private layout in the attic of his home based on German railways. Ton did the wiring of the S&G and assembled the logging cabins and skeleton cars.

Theo van den Heuvel. Theo designed the S&G lettering on the equipment, painted the wonderfull backdrop and built the big donkey and made it smoke like hell.

Leo Bettonviel. Leo designed and installed the DCC wiring, installed DCC decoders for the locomotives and switches (together with Ton Van de Ven), did the research for the S&G project and gave it it's name and legend.

All were involved in construction, track laying, making (lots of) trees and scenery and all the other things one has to do to put this show on the road.
