NEWS'n'STUFF:
There are only a view good 3rd person view adventures released in the past view years;

Jack Orlando - Director's Cut
The Mystery Of The Druids
The Longest Journey
Syberia
Runaway - A Road Adventure

I highly recommend these adventure games!

The different views of Graphic Adventure Games;

1st Person View - You see the game world through the eyes of the player's character. This type is associated with the panorama views of Adventures in the style of "Myst" and the realtime 3D game worlds of Action Games like "Quake" and "Unreal".
99.9% of the Adventure games released nowadays feature 1st person view.
Highly reccomended recent titles: Exile, Shizm, Amerzone
Highly reccomended classic titles: The Journeyman Project trilogy, Myst, Riven

2nd Person View - You see your character from the back. This type is associated with realtime 3D game worlds of Adventures like "Omicron, The Nomad Soul" and Action Games like "Tombraider".
99.9% of the realtime 3D adventure games released feature this view and often feature action sequences.
Highly reccomended recent titles: Omicron, The Nomad Soul
Highly reccomended classic titles: Perfect Assasin

3rd Person View - You see the player's character moving inside the game world. This type is associated with Adventures in the style of "Monkey Island".
99.9% of the adventure games released nowadays DO NOT feature this view.
Highly reccomended recent titles: Sanitarium, Syberia (2002), The Longest Journey (2000), Jack Orlando - Director's Cut (2000), Runaway - A Road Adventure (2003), Black Mirror (2003)
Highly reccomended classic titles: ToonStruck, The Feeble Files, Space Quest series, Monkey Island series

My TOP recomendations of graphic adventure games:

  • The Longest Journey
  • Sanitarium
  • Syberia
  • Mystery Of The Druids
  • Toonstruck

My personal graphic adventure preferences: 3rd person point & click. No action, running and jumping and preferably prerendered 2D graphics. Many of the recent adventure games are 1st person.

This website was put together for the purpose of;

1 - As a checklist of all graphic adventure games on CD and DVD-ROM. (Games with a red field I do not have in my collection, games with letters I do have but not in the english language)
2 - Inform people interested in adventure games about which titles exist. (DVD-ROM could revamp the gerne as CD-ROM did)
3 - Signal game companies; there is still interest in good old graphic adventures. (You know, point&click, no action, nice puzzles, prerendered backgrounds)

For now this site is primarily a list of many adventuregames I know exist, but more information will be collected.

MOTAS' populairity is responsible for moving 10GB data traffic PER DAY. Needless to say there was need for a web space sponsor.

Runaway - A Road Adventure released (Holland). This is a great game and highly roccomended! With all good things... it was over to quickly.

Scholtens & Wristers (Holland) can supply you with titles from The Adventure Company. (Prices about 35 Euro)

SYBERIA 2 & THE LONGEST JOURNEY 2
Two of the best adventures in the past years get a sequel. These adventures keep up the good old classic 3rd person point and click tradition. YEAH, Highly recommended!

SAM & MAX 2 and FULL THROTTLE 2
Two wellknown LucasArts classics get a Sequal. I'm a little sceptical because they promise a ACTION packed adventure. (the one thing I dislike about adventure games is action)

AMERZONE DVD
I found some great adventure games. Real gems. Amerzone on DVD (SoftKey 100% Hits collection, for only €10) at Scholtens & Wristers. (DUTCH VERSION is a MISPRINT in MY OPINION due to graphic bugs on certain places. According to SoftKey Holland they tested the DVD version and found no codec errors. (My version played: Smacker video, and the main problem is ingame, not just the intro movie)

POP-UP-INFO is something I am developing for some time now. Still under development, some info may be wrong. ENTER

I moved and moved, now I found the final server! What am I babbling about?

PLAY ADVENTURE GAMEI am working on a Online Graphic Adventure Game (Mystery Of Time And Space).

ADVENTURE
I put a very small interactive grapic adventure online.
PLAY here!
Please remember it's quite small, but I'm working on it regulary, please check back again sometime. And you need the Flash 5 plugin.

MACROMEDIA FLASH
Using Flash 5 as develop tool for this game has several reasons; first, it's (almost) universally accepted, second, I just love Flash. Not many people realise that you can create complex code to create games, websites, you name it. Dare I say, one of the very best programs (for the internet) ever created!

DEVELOPMENT
Some of my early experiments involve creating some sort of engine in Flash! After these experiments I'm positive about the possibilities to create a full-blown interactive graphic adventure using this system. Later I'll put a link to my experiments here.
Don't expect to much though.

GRAPHICS
I designed some locations for the game. I found out a great way to simulate 3D while still be able to 'recycle' objects. View screenshots here!
Perhaps there will be "The Making Of", after we finish it, hehe.

TODO
Still there are many hurdles to overcome like universal object handling. And making a template to work from, featuring all the prefab buttons I need.
What I also need is webspace. I have only 5 MB on this account, it features my famous LinksOnLine website also.
