Sùnán Yugur Autonomous County
The Yugur live primarily in Gansù Province, in Sùnán Yugur Autonomous County, within the Prefecture of Zhangyè.
Sùnán Yugur Autonomous County consists in fact of three areas which are not contigious: Mínghua District, situated in the plains in the northwest, and Huángcheng District, situated in the mountains in the southeast, are separated from the main part of the County.
The capital of Sùnán Yugur Autonomous County, Hóngwansì Town, lies in the centre of the County, within the boundaries of Xuequán Township of Dàhé District.
The Western Yugur people live predominantly in Mínghua and Dàhé Districts; the Eastern Yugur people live mainly in Dàhé and Kanglè Districts, and after the 1949 Revolution, also in Huángchéng District.

Mínghua District covers an area of about 1631 square kilometres: 70 kilometres (from east to west) by 36 kilometres (from north to south).
Mínghua District is divided into three Townships: Liánhua, Mínghai, and Qiántan.
Mínghai Township, situated in the east of the District, is the biggest, covering an area of about 960 square kilometres. There are four administrative Villages: Nángou, Zhongshajing, Xiaohaizi and Shàngjing. The local seat of government is in Nángou.
Liánhua Township, situated west of Mínghai Township, covers an area of about 560 square kilometres. There are four administrative Villages: Shenjingzi, Húbianzi, Hèjiadun, and Huángtupo. The local seat of government is in Liánhuasì.
Qiántan Township, situated in the west of the District, is the smallest, covering an area of about 165 square kilometres. There are three administrative Villages: Qiántan, Huiquánzi, and Cìwoquán. The local seat of government is in Qiántan.
Dàhé District, situated in the central part of Sùnán Yugur Autonomous County, covers an area of about 3329 square kilometres: 90 kilometres (from east to west) by 70 kilometres (from north to south).
Dàhé District is divided into four Townships: Jiucàigou, Lamawan, Shuiguan, and Xuequán.
Jiucàigou Township, situated in the north of the District, is the biggest, covering an area of about 1554 square kilometres. There are five administrative Villages: Guanghuá, Dàtan, Hóngwan, Dongling, and Xiling. Dongling is situated just northwest of the administrative centre of the district.
Shuiguan Township, situated west of Jiucàigou Township, covers an area of about 750 square kilometres. There are two administrative Villages: Xichàhé, and Xihé. The local seat of government is in Xichàhé.
Xuequán Township, situated southwest of Jiucàigou Township, covers an area of about 831 square kilometres. There are four administrative Villages: Tianqiáowan, Yíngpán, Laohugou, and Songmùtan (situated some 35 kilometres west of Hóngwansì Town).
Lamawan Township, situated southeast of Jiucàigou Township, is the smallest, covering an area of about 194 square kilometres. There are five administrative Villages: Báizhuang, Lamawan, Xiliugou, Jiùsìwan, and Hóngbianzi (situated some five kilometres west of Lamawan).
Kanglè District, situated to the south of Dàhé District, covers an area of about 2664 square kilometres: 47 kilometres (from east to west) by 68 kilometres (from north to south).
Kanglè District is divided into four Townships: Báiyín, Hóngshíwo, Qinglóng, and Yángge.
Báiyín Township, situated in the east of the District, is the Township where most Mongols of the Autonomous County are concentrated. The Township covers an area of about 450 square kilometres. There are four administrative Villages.
Hóngshíwo Township, situated west of Báiyín Township, covers an area of about 725 square kilometres. The local seat of government is in Gangoumén. There are five administrative Villages: Kangféng, Sàiding, Bayin, Dàcaotan, and Hóngshíwo.
Qinglóng Township, situated west of Hóngshíwo Township, covers an area of about 400 square kilometres. There are five administrative Villages.
Yángge Township, situated south of Hóngshíwo and Qinglóng Township, covers an area of about 1089 square kilometres. There are two administrative Villages.
