In the book A
DUTCH LIBERATION DOWN SOUTH Hans Heltzel wrote down
the fruit of a ten year long investigation. Here is presented a history of the last year
of
the Second World War in Western Europe, and more specific in and around the
most southern
part of the Netherlands. Infantry fighting, armored vehicles
uprooting,
artillery blasting their way, supporting units maintaining morale and
violence of war,
and civilians having to live under these circumstances; trying to live a
normal live
under these abnormal conditions: the combat zone.
