• If you have a gamesave with the Concept Car from getting all gold medals in the B License tests, you can use the Trade feature to buy that as your first car; the price is Cr.0! Note, however, that there's no way to get rid of (sell) the car once it's in your Garage.
• If you have a gamesave with prize cars, you can use the Trade feature to buy good cars for cheap prices. For prize cars, the Trade prices are 20K for road cars and 35K for race cars.
• If you keep getting the exact same prize car in the exact same color over and over again, try starting GT with no memory card inserted and then manually load your gamesave. You can also try doing the same championship with a different car. Or, use the same car and try for different results.
• Winning the GT World Cup opens a credits video, so it's probably best to save that championship for last.
• In the Garage list, you can scroll a page up / down with [L1] / [R1]. The buttons also work for the lists at the Used car lots, but not for the Trade list.
• When you use the Trade feature to buy cars from other memory cards, only the installed parts are included (e.g., if the car on the other MC has parts that were bought but not installed, they won't be included in the purchase when you use the Trade feature). Trade prices for prize race cars are normally 35K but, if the car is fitted with hard tires, the price will be 30K (5K cheaper because that's the difference between hard and soft racing tires).
• If you plan to buy Racing Modification for a car, you don't need to buy Weight Reductions for it (they're already included). Racing Modification will also make the car lighter than the 3 stages of Weight Reduction will.
• Racing Modification is not an all-inclusive upgrade. As far as I can tell, you only get weight reduction, an aerodynamics package (wings), and a new color scheme; you still have to buy power kits and everything else.
• Credit-Saving Tip: If you buy 2 of the exact same cars and buy parts for one of them, the other one will automatically also include the same parts. This can save you some credits if you want both an upgraded road version and a racing version of the same car. For example: if you already have an upgraded car that you used in the Tuned Car championship, you can have a racing version of it for fairly cheap; just buy the same car and you'll see that you only need to buy Racing Modification and 2 or 3 items from the Engine department.
• Non-Removable Upgrades: Some upgrades are permanent and can't be uninstalled to restore the car to its stock (unmodified) state. If you want to be able to use a car for the Normal Car championship and for other championships as well, these are the upgrades to avoid buying:
  • Engine: Port Grinding, Engine Balancing, Increasing Displacement
  • Others: Weight Reduction, Racing Modification
  As far as I know, all other upgrades can be uninstalled via MachineSetting>ChangeParts.
• When buying racing tires, always go for Soft/Soft. Unlike in GT3, Hard racing tires don't give you any advantage in Endurace races; the poor performance of Hard tires costs more time than can be made up for in fewer pitstops.
• The Used Car line-up changes every 10 days. If you want to quickly advance the days to check the next batch, the fastest way (as far as I know) is via a license test:
  1. On the Main page, select the "LICENSE" icon,
  2. Press [X] to select the A-Class License,
  3. Press [X] again to enter a test,
  4. Press [X] again to start the test,
  5. Press [Start] and then choose "Game exit",
  6. Select "Try Again" from the License Exam menu,
  7. Press [X] to start the test,
  8. Press [Start] and choose "Game exit",
  9. Repeat steps 6-8 until you've reached the desired day.
  The line-up wraps around on Day 600 (i.e., Day 600 is the same as Day 1, Day 610 is the same as Day 10, Day 720 is the same as Day 120, etc.).
