[In traditional grammars durative is named "present", durative past indicative "imperfect"]
4. [– (ι)σκ-] Here again the other phases do not have the –(ι)σκ- and may have different stems from the one in the durative. A full enumeration (following the durative other stems are set out, all of which will be found in the list of verb stems):
|
Εὑρίσκω has many pa-ind forms without augmentation. In Attic, only the compound ἀποθνῄσκω occurs; μίσγω is not the only durative of this verb: there is also μείγνυμι. Next to χάσκω there is χαίνω.
There are a good many more verbs ending in –σκω, but either these have no other phases than the durative, or they present no problems.
