Magical Elements

There are ten elements: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, Darkness, Spirit, Energy, Anti-Energy and Unsided. Each being has an aflitiation to three of these elements. Depending on wether the elements are material(fire, water, wind, earth, light and darkness) or spiritual(spirit, energy, anti-energy and unsided.) the being can preform energy-arts alias magic and psy-powers.

When you are aflitiated to three material elements, you can preform magic, when aflitiated to three spiritual elements you can use psy powers.
But when aflitiated to both spiritual elements and material elements, you can't use any form of energy-arts.

The difference between psy-powers and magic is only visible when you look at the way they transform things:
Reality can be splitten up in three layers: the material layer, the energy layer, and the psychological layer, aka the soul layer.
The material layer is the layer of anything material, and can be seen.
In this layer there are stones and rocks and anything material.
The energy layer is the layer of force, and can not be seen, but can be felt.
In this layer, there is gravity and bodyheath, to name some forces...
The Soul layer is the super natural layer, ghosts and polter-geists exist in this layer.
This layer is rarely seen, and sometimes you just need a sixth sense for it...

Well, now the difference between magic and psy-powers is that magic transforms the material layer and psy-powers transform the energy layer.
Usualy when energy-arts transform something in one layer, the other layers will come along.
So that floating people won't lose their bodywarmth.
But when psy-powers and magic powers work against eachother, with same amount of force, you'll get layer-break. which means that you'll separate the material from the force.
Par Example: If a mage wants to let a stone float, and stand on the stone, but the psy wants to keep the stone on the ground, then on the material layer the stone will float, but on the energy layer the stone will still be on the ground.
Next to that, if the mage is on the stone, four meter in the sky,
his body will expierience the same amount of gravity he would have felt if he was falling from
four meter high.

The other way around, the psy would've been floating on the energy of the stone.

A few sidenotes on all the above though:

Layer-break can't damage living things, the soul layer keeps them intact.
So people can't be killed because the layer-break removed their body heath, or might've disabled their brains.

Light is a material element, because even though the rock of above might've been separated, from it's energy layer, it's still visible in the light, though the light will go through the energy of the stone.

Also, The element water doesn't only refer to the chemical water, it actually refers to all fluids, The same thing for air, though that refers to all gasses, and the earth sub-elements soil, metal, and stone refer to all solid materials.
