Download the latest MPEGplus Software |
The software you can download below, has been made for the platform Windows.
There's also MPEGplus Software for O t h e r P l a t f o r m s , like os/2 and linux.
1. MPEGplus Plugin
Winamp is a very popular player to play several audioformats.
With Winamp it's possible to play MPEGplus files. The
only thing you have to do is to download the Plugin.
If you don't have Winamp yet (recommended), you can download it at
Winamp.com.
You can use the same plugin for the audioplayers MediaJukebox
and DeliPlayer if you prefer one of these.
The MPEGplus plugin support cross-fading plugins. A well known Winamp cross-fade
plugin by SQRsoft can be downloaded
here.

2. MPEGplus Encoder (StreamVersion 7)
With the command-line Encoder it's possible to encode your music in MPEGplus.
The best way to encode is: mppenc (input.wav) (output.mpc) -v
[more help]
If you would like to encode a complete directory try: for %i in (*.wav) do mppenc %i
You can also download the Mppenc Frontend (see below). This piece of software makes
it a lot easier for you to encode your music. You don't need to use the commands anymore.
Click [here] for other ways of batch encoding (encoding in another program).
MPEGplus Encoder [Version 1.7.9c, ca. 78 Kb]
3. MPEGplus Decoder
With the command-line Decoder it's possible to decode you're music in the Wav format.
You can burn a Wav with a burner on a CDRecordable. You can listen to this
CDrecordable on a normal CD-player.
MPEGplus Decoder [Version v1.7.8c, ca. 51 Kb]
4. MPEGplus Frontend Encoder and Decoder
This piece of software makes it more easy for you to encode or decode your MPEGplus files. You don't
have to use the MS-DOS prompt and type the commands anymore. You still need to download
the MPEGplus Encoder/Decoder (see above) though.
Encoder: Just launch the program, add (multiple) wav-files and press Go. It's also possible to edit the ID3-tag,
to set the quality, output filename, etc..
Decoder: Launch the program, add (multiple) Mpc files and press Go. You can set extra parameters, output filename, etc..
The MPEGplus Frontends has been made by Martin Spüler. Use the latest version of the encoder frontend (0.09) only for the
MPEGplus encoder v.1.7.9 or greater. The older version (0.07) can only be used for the MPEGplus encoder v.1.7.8 or lower.

5. Miscellaneous
5.1 MPEG Audio Collection (Mac)
This program, made by Jurgen Faul, is designed to organize your MPEG audio file
collection including MPEGplus files. Some nice features are building diverse
collection reports (*.txt, *.dif, *.html), multilingual interface, printing
CD-covers, searching for name, reading all MPEG properties inclusive ID3-tags,
playing file(s) with it's associated application, creating playlists, importing
from another collection, support for very big collections etc. etc. For more
information visit Mac's website.
MPEG Audio Collection [Version 2.77 beta 1d, ca. 547 Kb]
5.2 MPEGplus extension renamer
Because the final extension of MPEGplus is going to be .mpc
Martin Spüler wrote this program to change your MPEGplus files with the
.mp+ extension into the new one. However the fastest way is to type:
ren *.mp+ *.mpc /s in the Dos prompt. (/s for all subdirectories)
If you like to rename other files too,
you should try Flash Renamer.
A freeware program which includes some nice features.
Mp+ to Mpc renamer [Version 1.0, ca. 178 Kb]
5.3 MPEGplus Script for mIRC
With this script people can see in the channel which MPEGplus file you're
listening to. It's made by Mo0seBoy and supports StreamVersion 7.
MPEGplus Script for mIRC [Version 0.97, ca. 6 Kb]
6. Files for compilers/writers
6.1 MPEGplus Plugin and Decoder Source code
With the source code, you're able to see and modify the plugin and decoder.
It's for people who are advanced program writers.
To idea of making it able to download the source code, is to improve the quality
of the plugin and decoder and to make a player for another platform.
For compiling under linux, type "gcc -c mppdec.c" and
then "gcc mppdec.o -lm -o dec". Check also the Software for Other Platforms section
for the latest linux encoder, decoder and the xmms-plugin, as well as the player for Os/2 .
MPEGplus Decoder source code [Version v1.7.8c, ca. 34 Kb]
MPEGplus Winamp plugin source code [Version v1.7.9f, ca. 66 Kb]
