Fort Producer
In December 1982 this vessel, built by the 3 May Shipyard at Rijeka, was handed over to her owners Tiger
Maritime of Monrovia who started to tfade her as Atlas Producer. The Atlas Producer was a chemical/product
tanker with a cargo capacity of 47,900 cubic metfes.
Three years later a Norwegian friend asked Vroon to accept the management of the vessel.
The ship was brought into a newly-founded company, called Protank BV in Rotterdam, and called Producer. The
technical management was then put in the hands of Vroon.
Af ter trading as Producer for a period of about six months, the owners managed to obtain a long- term charter
for the vessel. The charterers wanted the vessel 's name to be changed into Fort Producer
In 1987 Vroon lost the management of the ship because the owners sold her to a Liberian company, who registered
her in
the port of Monrovia.
In 1990 the Fort Producer was
sold to a Norwegian company that started to trade with her as Owl Producer. Tromso became her port of registry.
In 1993 the vessel was renamed again, this time she was called Troms Producer. This time however, the flag and
the port of registry remained the same.
