"IGLO EXPRESS" In 1979 the reefer vessel Guadelupe was launched Kunrushima Dock Co. at Imabari (Japan) for the Monrovian shipping company Cacique Navigation.
In 1983 the ship was sold to another Liberian company which called her Sunreef.
One year later Vroon took over the vessel and changed her name into Iglo Express.
Right after the takeover plans were drawn to jumboize the Iglo Express.
A few weeks after the acquisition the vessel went to Scheepswerf De Groot & Van Vliet at Slikkerveer (Holland) in order to be extended with a 18,20 meter long midbody.
The lengthened Iglo Express was registered at Breskens and she was and still is employed in the Seatrade Reefer Pool. The reefer mainly trades between Western Eurape and South America and West Africa. During a number of seasons she was chartered by a Moroccan company who used her in the trade between Morocco and Western Europe. In 1992 the vesse1 changed the Dutch for the Philippine flag and her homeport became Manila.
