Shelf Express
In 1985 N.A.M. {Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij) tendered for three platform supply boats
for a five year charter contract. Various owners offered their services for this contract
and finally the order was given to three of them, being Smit Lloyd, Unterweser and Vroon.
A large number of shipyards were approached by Vroon in order to make an offer and in the
end the building contract was won by the well-known Damen group of shipyards.
Hergum Shipyard delivered the vessel to Vroon in December 1986.
The vessel, built according to the requirements of our principals is today still on charter to
N.A.M.
This very successful ship can regularly be seen at Velsen-Noord out of which port she serves the
oil industry on the southern part of the North Sea.
