Southern Express
In November 1997 the m.v. Southern Express, yard number 310 was delivered to owners at Kitanibon Shipyard in Hachinobe, North Honshu Island. The Southern Express was the sixth of a series of seven reefer vessels, with a capacity of 531.000 cft, built by Kitanibon for several shipping companies. At the same moment this vessel was delivered to Vroon for time charter and entered in the reefer pool. The owners had appointed Fleet Management Ltd. at Hong Kong as technical managers. The Southern Express was scheduled in main banana trades of the reefer pool. With the size and speed she is an excellent vessel for these trades. Also the Southern Express was switched over from the reefer pool to G.R.T. chartering beginning January 2000. At present she is trading from Chile to West Continent.
