CONCEPT

“Behind the, by lack of maintenance, polluted facades hide the real diamonds of Antwerp. The selected location contains a hidden diamond in the shape of the Panamarenko house. But its direct environment does no justice to it.”

It is all about the building in the city versus the city in the building. They are inseparable. A new impulse is given to the location by transforming the former house of the Belgium artist Panamarenko and two adjacent houses into one museum.

All elements inside the museum reflect the methods Panamarenko used to build his creations. The museum will create an impulse on the location, making the square more vivid throughout the day. It also has to potential to become an anchor between the famous ‘Sint Jansplein’ and the renewed ‘Park Spoor Noord’.
