It all started in the good old days of 1973, when George Thorogood gathered up his musical minions and performed at Lane Hall on the University of Delaware campus. They contentedly opened for groups such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and the Rolling Stones.
Their first record was GTD, released in 1977, followed soon by Move It On Over in 1978. 1980 brought us Better Than the Rest and I'm Wanted. In 1981 they accomplished an astonishing feat - the famous 50-50 tour. These fabulous musicians played a gig in 50 different states in a mere 50 days!
In 1982 George Thorogood and the Destroyers took the music world by storm when they released their fifth album, Bad to the Bone. The song of the same name spawned a video that was soon a favorite on a brand-new MTV. Three hit albums followed before their first live album in 1986 titled Live. Born to be Bad arrived in 1988, and one year later the band released their first greatest hits album, The George Thorogood Collection. Throughout the 1990's the band remained strong, releasing a total of seven albums, including a second compilation of hits, The Baddest of George Thorogood (1992) and two more Live albums - Let's Work Together in 1995 and Live in '99 in November of 1999.
A mere nine months after Live in '99 they released a fantastic two-disc Anthology with a total of 30 songs such as Bad to the Bone, Johnny B. Goode, Reelin' and Rockin', and the ever popular One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer.
They didn't produce another album until March of 2003 when they released Ride til I Die. Finally, George Thorogood Greatest Hits: 30 Years of Rock was released in May of this year.
