LYRICS

Got a broken heart
You got a broken heart, And you don’t know why
You’re feelin’ so alone, All you do is cry
Everytime you think about it, you just don’t understand
You used to have a lover, now you’re such a lonely man
You got to get her back, you’re running out of time
You’re living on the edge, about to loose your mind
With your broken heart, With your broken heart
You’re spendin’ every day, sittin’ home alone
You’re longing for your baby, but your baby’s gone
She didn’t give a reason, for walking out the door
You’re so damned tired of wandering, you just can’t take no more
Your hopin’ and praying, seemed to be in vain
And you’d give anything, just to get her back again
With your broken heart babe, You’ve got a broken heart
Got such a broken heart, lord you got a broken heart
You’ve got a broken heart, and that’s all you know
You feel you’re goin’ under, because you miss her so
Got to get yourself together, no matter what it cost
When you’re out in stormy weather, it’s so easy to get lost
Got to get her back, whatever else to do
She’s the only one, who just might pull you through
Your broken heart, through your broken heart
Through your broken heart, lord broken heart
Lord yeah, yeah, yeah

Gotta leave this town
You ve gotta leave this town
Lonely is only got you down
Leave this town!
You know that it`s only got you down
Take a look around
You` re dying in this town
When you` re out on the street
You cross your dreams beneath your feet
Walking on the street!
Now you cross your dreams beneath your feet
Murder all about, there must be must be some way out
Lord there must be so way out
On a dirty street
You ask the people that you meet
On a dirty street
You ask everybody that you meet
(You've ) got to understand you`re dying in this town
This dirty town

Lookin' for the promised land
Lord came to Moses, he took him by the hand.
He said I want you to lead your people, to the promised land.
Now your brother faro, he might try to start a fight.
But believe me Mo, everything will be allright.
When you're looking for the promised land.
When you're looking for the promised land.
Lord came to Daniel, said Danny boy, my friend.
Somebody's gonna take you, and throw you in the lion's dan.
But believe me Danny, don't you worry about no cat.
I'll be right beside you, and the lion can't do you bad.
And all that they wanted, was a place where they could be.
Living their lives, standing tall and free.
My brothers and sisters, it's the same for you and me,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land.
Yes we are, nononononono....
All that they wanted, was a place were they could be,
living their lives, standing tall and free.
My brothers and sister, it's the same for you and me,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land.
Lord came to Doctor King, said Marley won't you listen up.
I want you to lead you're people, to the mountaintop.
In the beginning of the journey, they took a life away.
Now they can kill a man, but the dream lives on the way.
And all that they wanted, was a place were they could be.
Living their lives, standing tall and free.
My brothers and sisters, it's the same for you and me,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land,
we're looking for the promised land.

Prisoner of a dream
On the beach, writing in the sand,
she's a throwaway from the promised land,
All she owns is on her back
she carries everything in a little papersack.
She writes her story in the sand each day,
the tide rolls in to wash it all away, wash it all away.
She's trying to tell us how sad it seems
to spend your life a prisoner of a dream.
She' s very fragile and she lost her mind.
Her life is precious, but the world is so unkind, it's so unkind.
Her eyes are empty as she madly writes
she starts in the morning, she goes till late at night,
late at night.
She writes her story in the sand each day,
the tide rolls in to wash it all away.
She's trying to tell us how sad it seems
to spend your life a prisoner of a dream.
She's a prisoner.
She understands there's no way out,
she can't figure what the dream is all about,
what's it all about?
She does her sleepîng out on the street,
She burns a little money, wraps rags around her feet,
rags around her feet.
She writes her story in the sand each day,
the tide rolls in to wash it all away.
She's trying to tell us how sad it seems
to live your life a prisoner of a dream.
YOu know she's just a prisoner, she's a prisoner.
All alone each and every day.
It's a land of plenty, but she's got nowhere to stay,
she's got nowhere to stay.
The streets and alleys is where she lives,
'cause the land of plenty, it got no more to give,
got no more to give.
A cardboard box gonna be her bed,
the sky's the only roof above her head.
The streets are teaching her what it means
to be a prisoner of the American dream.
She's a prisoner, she's a prisoner, she's a prisoner,
she's a prisoner, just a prisoner. She's a prisoner.

Say goodbye
Say goodbye, say goodbye to the blues
Say goodbye, say goodbye to the blues. Say goodbye
The road has finally taken you
Where ther ain’t, where there ain’t no more bad news
It’s a long road to heaven, and it’s a rough, it’s a rough rough road to hell
It’s a long road to heaven, and it’s a rough rough road to hell
There’s a mistery awaitin’ us
What it is, what it is no one can tell ooh yeah
Play on, play on through the darkest night
Play on, play on through the darkest night
The road has finally taken you
Where everything, everything is gonna be allright
It’s gonna be allright, no more pain, no more sorrow

Song for a wanderer
When I look back on days of long ago
I always remember the love we used to know
I think of the time before you had to go
and the memory to me, is oh so,beautiful
and now I wonder why nothing ever seems to last
the world kept turning and the changes came too fast
when I look at the clouds they remind me of the past
and the time we spent together when the world was young
I will remember
I will remember
I will remember and the memory to me is oh so beautiful
so when I look back on how it used to be
I can't help cryin' for the vision that I see
and for the rest of my days you are here inside of me
I carry you here with me inside my heart
I will remember
I will remember
I will remember and the memory to me is oh so beautiful
I will remember
I will remember
I will remember

Sweet as a flower
She was as sweet as a flower just starting to bloom
I knew I was in trouble when she walked into the room
How could someone so young know of love so soon
She knew that I had seen her, I saw her looking my way
I felt that I should answer, then what should I say
Should I ask her to come with me or forget and walk away?
She told me she was older, but I knew she couldn't be
She told me she was older, I knew she couldn't be
Cause her eyes made me remember the days when I was young and free
It's hard when you grow older and you're longing to be young
And your song of innocence is a song already sung
You can sing it to the sunrise, never to the setting sun

The love that we once knew
My pretty southern lady, the time has come at last,
you used to be my baby, but I guess those days are past.
'Cause baby - You won't even call my name,
and maybe it's all a part of your game
I love you - that always is the same,
but I know I just can't take no more,
no no, no no, I just can't take no more baby, na no, no no.
There's oh so many reasons, that this has come to pass,
the changing of the seasons, and l'm on my own at last.
But I can't forget hard times gone by,
they haunt me, and God knows that I try.
But voices still scream down from the sky,
telling me - I just don't understand
no no, no no, I don't understand it baby, no no, no no.
But baby, the love is nowhere near,
we speak, but baby we don't hear.
In my heart, I'll always hold so dear, the memory of,
the love that we once knew, no no, no no.

To begin again
To begin again, was all that I needed
and maybe win again, but it seemed so far away.
And to quit the game was lookin so easy.
It was all the same, with the walls closin' in.
Everybody was dancin', every time the music played,
surrounded by walls of steel, they couldn't hear a word I'd say.
Wearing a mask of glory, so easy to pretend
I'm tired of the same old story,
I need to begin again.
And to live again and put this behind me
and to look to the sky and to breathe again
and to feel again, where no one can find me
And to taste the wind, and not be hide from the rain.
Everybody is laughing; they don't know the reason why.
In rooms filled with smoke and whiskey, nobody looks you in the eye.
With superficial conversation it's so hard to make a friend.
To find another destination, I need to begin again.
When I look around me I just wanna run away.
Everbody talks so loudly, but no one has a word to say.
I wanna see with eyes of wonder, like the innocent children.
I need a place to make my stand, then I can begin again
I need to begin again
